THE COMPANY

Wittenburg B.V. is a compounding company specialising in thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). We produce compounds which are marketed under the name Cawiton® and are the basis for a wide range of products. What is our particular speciality in this process? The custom-made products which we supply! We practise the philosophy that there must be a Cawiton® materials solution for every customer, specifically tailor-made to his product.

For the compounds which we develop and produce, we use well-known base polymers such as SBS, SEBS or other TPE materials for example. By adding various other ingredients, the product and processing properties are optimised. What is unique about the Cawiton® compounds is that they combine the properties of both traditional rubbers and thermoplastics. This makes them easy to process using common techniques such as injection moulding or extrusion.

PARTNER MENTALITY

In our approach to developing and producing compounds, the customer comes first. This is also clearly reflected in the practical guidance we provide. We position ourselves as a partner and that means that we get together with the customer to examine the materials problem at the earliest possible stage in product development. The advantage of this is that he can profit from our know-how in the optimum way. Because we supply not only compounds but also the supplementary knowledge and advice regarding the most efficient processing, Cawiton® is not just a brand. It stands for a branded compound in which we have been able to combine the best of two worlds: our long experience in rubber and more than 30 years of practice in developing and working with thermoplastics.

Our customer focus means that we are flexible enough to satisfy the wishes of our customers. Our pilot plant plays a major role in this respect. This is fully equipped with all the technology for processing our compounds, such as injection moulding machines, extruders and an extrusion blow moulding line. With the help of these, we are in a position to develop, produce and deliver a compound very quickly.

PRODUCTION

To produce our Cawiton® compounds, we have a fully tooled TPE factory. This is equipped with several compounding lines, different mixer plants for further homogenisation or re-mixing of already produced materials, and a packaging line which enables us to fill the various sizes of packaging which we encounter in practice, varying from single bags to bulk transport packs.
